Novels
Invisible is
the saga of immigrant girls (Zelenka and Wilhelmina) orphaned at the Turn of
the Century when women's rights were limited and options were few. Zel and
Willy cling to their friendship to survive the Orphan Train, poverty, deception,
rape, the flu pandemic of 1918, prohibition, and society's ostracism of the divorced
or widowed. Angered by their lot, Zel and Willy partner with Red, their black
butler, and prove that they can succeed as businesswomen in a man's world.
However, they discover that there is one thing that can destroy their
friendship, the desire for the same man.
Georgie's Story, the diary of a high class call-girl in Chicago chronicles the lives of Georgie and Rose, a mother and daughter, estranged for years due to a series of unfortunate events, misunderstandings, and the unwillingness of a daughter to seek the truth behind the perceived realities of her mother's life. Both women learn the hard truth that fate can shape one's life, but the manipulation of fate can send it spiraling out of control; and the hardest lesson of all, sometimes a mother must lose her daughter in order to save her.
The Face in the Door is the story of Julia, who struggles to understand the demons that live within and what causes her to trash all that is good in her life. Confronting the people who played a role in destroying her childhood, she faces the choice of living a life of survival or succumbing to the death of her spirit. It is a tale of innocence and hope as Julia grapples with living in the past or creating brighter future.
