Ton of changes might be an overstatement but 2014 was gone in a blur. In the fall of 2013 my mother passed away leaving my 93 year old father behind to miss her terribly. In 2014 my husband decided to retire, we sold our home in Peoria, fixed up the home in SC, and retired here in October after Dick finished 38 years at Caterpillar. Not long after we moved to SC, my father passed away. His funeral was quickly followed by the birth of our 3rd grandchild, Thanksgiving and then Christmas. Currently I am working on getting my parents home in shape to sell and continuing to fix up our home.
During this past year, I have not found the time or desire to write but have been reading and am thinking about joining a Book Club here in Keowee Key. I've never been part on one and have some trepidation about joining one. I guess my fear is the books will be ones I have no interest in reading. But I will test the waters and see if they read my kind of books.
On writing: I've written three novels and have a fourth one started that I put on hold a year or so ago as I was volunteering for the Peoria Historical Society. And because I needed a break from writing, I didn't find the time to work on it. The fourth story is still in my head waiting to finish. BUT this past week, I heard someone's life story. And her tale is intriguing me. I may work on that as a story idea - develop the idea and let it percolate as I finish my fourth novel. It would not be her story totally but a fictionalized version.... again answering the question that intrigues me: why and how some people survive and succeed against the odds.
Enough for today; Super Bowl kicks off in an hour and half. And it's not that I really care for either the Patriots or the Seahawks but it's always fun to gather with friends for the evening.
